All interns are fully supported throughout their placement, with accommodation and welfare provided. Programme length is flexible and tailored to individual availability and development goals.

JordAN CHADWICK

Released from EFL Academy (Age 17)

Their EPAC story

Jordan is a British player who spent over eight years in the English academy system, representing a number of EFL clubs. At the age of 16, he was released and not offered a professional youth contract, placing his potential playing career at a critical crossroads.
Working closely with Jordan and his parents, we designed a six-week personalised programme that saw him travel to California, USA, to take part in EPAC’s Coaching Internship Programme. During his time with us, Jordan worked with over 100 young players, assisting and leading coaching sessions while developing his coaching knowledge and confidence under the guidance of a UEFA A licensed coach.
Alongside his coaching development, Jordan also experienced life off the pitch, living with a local host family who ensured he enjoyed the full Californian experience. This included visiting national parks and major landmarks, as well as socialising in a healthy, supportive environment.
Jordan’s journey highlights how EPAC supports young players through key transition periods, providing new opportunities, personal growth, and clear pathways within the game.

After being released, I wasn’t sure what my next step in football would be. Going to California with EPAC completely changed my mindset. Coaching young players, learning from experienced coaches, and being trusted to lead sessions gave me confidence again. Living with a host family, exploring new places, and experiencing a different culture made it more than just football. It was an opportunity I’ll always be grateful for and one that helped me see a future in the game.

aSHTON COOKSON

Current First Team Player at EFL Club (Age 18)

Their EPAC story

Ashton is a current first-team player at an EFL club who wanted to gain insight into coaching and player development to prepare for the future while continuing his professional career.
Interested in learning how to teach and develop young players, he chose to take part in a structured coaching experience abroad during the summer.
Working closely with Ashton and his family, we designed a four-week personalised programme that saw him travel to California, USA, to take part in EPAC’s Coaching Internship Programme. During his placement, Ashton learned how to design and deliver sessions, develop players’ technical and tactical understanding, and apply modern coaching methods, supported by our expert coaches. He also assisted and led sessions with youth players, building confidence and practical experience in a professional environment.
Alongside his coaching work, Ashton followed a personal training programme to prepare for pre-season, ensuring he maintained his fitness and performance levels. He also lived with a local host family, experiencing the full Californian lifestyle, including jet skiing, camping, visiting theme parks, and taking part in social events, all in a safe and supportive environment.

Spending time on the EPAC internship gave me a completely different perspective on the game. Coaching young players, planning sessions, and seeing how modern methods work has been eye-opening. Living in California, experiencing the culture, and having fun off the pitch made it an unforgettable experience. I feel like I’ve grown so much, both as a player and as someone who could step into coaching in the future.
